About us

In early 2021, we embarked on a journey to find out more about our home. We knew our home was old, and was sure it had an interesting history, but we were not prepared for how much we would learn about Lot 43 within the context of the Mohawk Valley. As we continue to learn the history of this wonderful area in upstate New York, we not only learn about the past, but also how we can care for this beautiful land we have grown to love for our shared future.

The land we live on has been farmed and inhabited for over 300 years. We hope to add to its story as good stewards of the land and the historical Van Slyke House which was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 8, 2021.

Thanks so much and we hope to see you out and about in the Mohawk Valley today!
